Peoria, Ill. - For the second week in a row, Lewis' Kathryn Hague (Chicago, Ill./Mt. Assisi) and Amanda Porter (Commercial Point, Ohio/Teays Valley/Shawnee State) finished 1-2 in a race, as the Flyers placed second overall in the Bradley Open College Division 5K Cross Country race at Detweiler Park on Friday evening.

Hague finished second behind Bradley's Katie Nowak, who won the University Division with a time of 18:03.

Lewis freshman Amy Clawson (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour) placed 13th overall with a mark of 19:40, followed by a 19th-place time of 20:06 from sophomore Ashley Lucas (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward). Flyer freshman Genevieve McBride (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) rounded out the top five with a 30th-place finish of 20:48.

"Kathryn and Amanda have been amazing these past two weeks," Lewis head women's cross country coach Dana Schwarting said. "Everyone else on the team either had a personal record or shaved off a minute of their time from last year. I'm very pleased with the performance."

Illinois Wesleyan won the race with 45 points, while Lewis was second in the race with 65 tallies.

Lewis will take two weeks off before participating in the highly prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota, in St. Paul on September 26th.
