No. 16 Women's Volleyball Sweeps Kentucky Wesleyan

OWENSBORO, Ky. - No. 16 Lewis women's volleyball earned a Great Lakes Valley Conference road victory on Friday evening by sweeping Kentucky Wesleyan 25-14, 25-18, 25-15.

Senior Lauren Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx) played just one set but led Lewis with seven kills. Senior Danielle Mount (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) added six kills. Freshman Katie Lindsey (Jacksonville, Ill./Routt Catholic) contributed five kills and three aces. Junior Katie Crawford (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) totaled 16 assists. Freshman Amy Choi (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) and sophomore Nikki Maes (Chicago, Ill./Queen of Peace) each had eight digs.

"We had some rough results last weekend so I'm really proud of the team to see them bounce back," head coach Lorelee Smith said. "We served aggressive and had high energy from start to finish."

Lewis improves to 18-4 (8-1 GLVC). Kentucky Wesleyan falls to 6-13 (0-9 GLVC). The Flyers finish their weekend conference trip at Southern Indiana on Saturday. Start time is slated for 3 p.m.
