Men's Soccer: Rockhurst 1, Lewis 0 in PDF Format 
Kansas City, Mo. - Rockhurst freshman forward Nick McDonald posted a second-half goal, his eighth of the season, to lift the host Hawks to the 1-0 win over the GLVC leading Lewis University men's soccer team at Bourke Field on Friday (Oct. 22) night.
McDonald lifted a 12-yard shot inside the back left post at the 69:20 mark for the game-winner. Rockhurst defender Joe Zang assisted on the play.
With the victory, Rockhurst improves to 8-4-2 overall and 7-4-2 in conference action, while the Flyers are now 10-5 on the campaign and 10-3 in GLVC play.
The Flyers threatened in the waning seconds, as senior midfielder Mardoche Beya (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) was stoned by a Rockhurst defender for a team save in the 88th minute. The Flyers peppered Rockhurst goalkeeper Kyle Clawson with two more shots over the final 10 seconds of the contest to no avail.
Clawson made six saves to earn the shutout. Lewis keeper Sebastian Kieruzal (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) took the loss for the Flyers, as he made four saves.
As a team, Lewis outshot Rockhurst, 15-12 and had seven shots on goal to the Hawks' five.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday, as they square off with Quincy in the Flyers' GLVC regular-season finale at 2:30 p.m. (CST).
