OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - Baseball dropped a non-conference doubleheader at Oakland City on Tuesday afternoon by scores of 9-8 and 3-2.

The Flyers led 8-5 entering the bottom of the seventh but lost on a 3-run walk-off home run by the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City.

Lewis had to rally back in the game, scoring four in the sixth and one in the seventh. Junior Vince Campagna (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett) had a bases clearing double in the sixth inning.

Junior Charles Gille (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) started on the mound for the Flyers in game two but unfortunately Lewis dropped a their second of two one-run affairs.

"We added on runs in game one and swung the bat well but they made keys plays down the stretch," head coach Tim McDonough said. "Then in game two Chuck (Gille) threw well but we didn't compete at the plate well enough."

Oakland City improves to 4-6. Lewis falls to 10-9. The Flyers open Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Saturday with a doubleheader at noon.
