Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team torched Trinity International from both the inside and the outside, as the Flyers shot 52.9% (36-for-68) from the field and 52.0% (13-for-25) from three-point range on their way to the 94-52 non-conference victory over the Trojans at Neil Carey Arena on Tuesday (Nov. 22) night.

The 13 three-pointers was the most by a Flyer squad since January 17, 2009, as Lewis connected on 13-of-22 of their attempts in a 101-82 win over UW-Parkside. The 42-point margin of victory was the biggest win by a Flyer team since a 101-37 victory over Robert Morris (Springfield) on December 29, 2008.

Lewis senior forward Matt Toth (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) led six Flyer players in double-figures with a game-high 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting, including three trifectas. Senior guard Chris McClellan (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) finished with 15 points, knocking down 5-for-7 of his three-point attempts, and a game-high six assists, while his backcourt mate Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) finished with 13 points.

Flyer sophomore forward Mantas Dubauskas (Naperville, Ill./St. Joseph) (Naperville, Ill./St. Joseph) posted a career-high 12 points, including five rebounds, while junior guard David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) and freshman forward Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) each scored 10 points. Lewis added a team-best eight rebounds and six assists for good measure.

With the win, Lewis improves to 3-0 on the season marking the first time the Flyers have won their opening three contests since the 2007-08 campaign. Tuesday night's contest was an exhibition game for Trinity International.

"We played a team tonight that we should have beaten, and we did," Lewis head coach Scott Trost said. "We did a lot of good things out there tonight, and we got everyone in the game, which is important.

"There's a lot of positives that we can take from tonight, but we have to keep getting better."

TIU sophomore guard Dillon Wadsack led the Trojans with 16 points, while senior forward Ryan Shelton added seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 26) afternoon, as they welcome in-region rival Hillsdale for a 3 p.m. tip-off at Neil Carey Arena.
