The win gives Lewis a share of the regular season Great Lakes Valley Conference title for the fourth consecutive season.

“I know it is just the regular season title and it doesn't carry a ton of weight but it is something the team and the coaching staff can be proud of,” head coach Lorelee Smith said. “This group has learned to fight and I'm really proud of that.”

Indianapolis, Missouri S&T and Lewis each finish the regular season 15-3 in the GLVC. Indianapolis earns the right to host the GLVC Tournament next weekend thanks to holding the head-to-head tiebreaker of sets won against Lewis (4-3). The Greyhounds swept Lewis on Sept. 1. Lewis has hosted the previous three GLVC Tournaments. The last time Indianapolis hosted, 2007, the Flyers swept the Greyhounds in the championship match.

Saturday's victory over the Greyhounds was a team-effort. Senior Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) hit .565 with 13 kills and no errors.

Lewis recorded a season-high 82 digs. McConkey led Lewis with 22.

“Over the past three years Kelly steps it up in big games,” Smith said. “I don't know what gives her the ability to turn it on when it counts the most but she does.”

Sophomore Amy Choi (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) finished with her sixth 20-dig match of the season by totaling exactly 20. Junior Jen Krumwiede (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial/IPFW) recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 15 digs and 13 kills. The Flyers totaled five aces while Indianapolis didn't record an ace until the fourth set.

Lewis improves to 23-5 overall. Indianapolis falls to 19-7. The Flyers have won 10 consecutive matches.

Lewis' next match is on Friday at 6 p.m. ET in the GLVC Tournament. The Flyers will play the winner of the No. 10 Drury and No. 7 UW-Parkside contest played Friday morning.
