EVANSTON, Ill.
– Lewis senior Madeline Kish (Oak Forest, Ill./Sandburg) (Oak Forest, Ill./Sandburg/Eastern Illinois) scored a game-high 20 points during the Flyers' 83-61 women's basketball exhibition setback at Northwestern on Sunday afternoon.

Kish was 7-of-11 from the floor and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

“We saw today what Kish can give us,” head coach Lisa Carlsen said. “She got some stuff in the paint too which is a bonus.”

Junior Sam Rinehart (Marion, Iowa/Marion) (Marion, Iowa/Marion) had 11 points and sophomore Lauren Mead (Wauconda, Ill./Wauconda) (Wauconda, Ill./Wauconda) added 11 points with seven rebounds. Mead was 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.

“Lauren was aggressive today and if she does that night in and night out she will have success this year,” Carlsen said.

The Flyers fell behind early but played point-for-point with the Wildcats in the second half as each team scored 33 points in the final frame.

Sunday's contest was the final exhibition for the Flyers. Lewis opens the 2011-12 regular season on Saturday at Ferris State. Start time is 6 p.m.  ET
