Lewis women's basketball (3-5) hits the road for a post-finals week contest at No. 22 Central Missouri (7-2) on Friday (Dec. 16). Start time for the non-conference contest in Warrensburg, Mo. is 7 p.m. Central Missouri is coming off their first two losses of the season, falling to Emporia State and Lincoln.

FIRST FOR EVERYTHING - Friday's meeting will be the first ever game between Central Missouri and Lewis.

MIAA AGAIN - Friday's contest against Central Missouri is the Flyers' second against a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association member this season after falling to Northeastern State on Nov. 25. Worth noting while Northeastern State is a member of the MIAA, they won't be an active member until 2012-13. Northeastern is in a single year of non-conference status as they transfer from the Lone Star Conference.

NO STRANGER FOR COACH - Lewis head coach Lisa Carlsen is very familiar with the MIAA. She played collegiality for Northwest Missouri State, earning All-MIAA honors all four seasons before graduating in 1992. Prior to 2011-12, the last time Lewis played a MIAA school was Northwest Missouri on Dec. 2, 1994. Lewis won 60-58 over the Bearcats.

STEALIN' - Labrenthia Murdock (Round Lake, Ill./Round Lake) has a steal in all eight games this season.

YOUNG BY THE NUMBERS - Lewis' seven newcomers have combined to play 728 minutes, or 44.1 percent of the available court time. The seven have scored 215 points, or 39.3 percent of Lewis' 546 points.

CAREER MARKS FOR KISH - Madeline Kish (Oak Forest, Ill./Sandburg)'s 19 points and five 3-pointers on Thursday against St. Francis (Ill.) were career highs for the senior.

REINHART IN THE SECOND HALF - Of Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic)'s 54 rebounds, 35 have come in the second half or overtime.

CAREER MARKS FOR MURDOCK TOO - Labrenthia Murdock (Round Lake, Ill./Round Lake) tied a career high with 23 points against St. Francis (Ill.) She did much of the work from the line, as she finished 7-for-10 from the charity stripes, both career bests for the junior.

TAKING ADVANTAGE - Sam Rinehart (Marion, Iowa/Marion) is averaging 12.3 points per game in the Flyers' previous three contests, Rinehart's first three starts of the season.

PERFECT FROM BEYOND THE ARC - Lewis made all five of their second half 3-point attempts against Southern Indiana on Dec, 1. The last time Lewis made every 3-point attempt in a half was when the Flyers drained all five attempts in the first half against Butler on Nov. 21, 2004. Lewis dropped the game at Hinkle Fieldhouse 71-59.

TAKING IT AWAY - The Flyers recorded 20 steals against BYU-Hawaii on Nov. 24th. It was the first time Lewis earned 20 steals in a game since recording 20 at Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 20, 2005.

ADDING AN ALL-AMERICAN - The Flyers have added an All-American to their roster. Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan), a 6-2 right-side hitter for the Lewis women's volleyball team, joined the team on Dec. 8. She was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Third Team in late November following a stellar senior season with the Lewis women's volleyball team. She recorded a team-high 299 kills with 91 blocks for the Flyers in 2011 and helped Lewis to a 25-7 record. She joins the Lewis women's basketball team with junior eligibility. Koeneman will wear the number 44.

TO CLOSE OUT 2011 - The Flyers will take some time off for Christmas break before getting on the court again. When they do, they will face a nationally ranked Michigan Tech squad on Dec. 30. The contest will be played at the neutral site of Portland High School outside of Lansing, Mich.
