In her first season at Lewis, 2007-08, Carlsen started forward Jenny Turpel (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) and point guard Kady Currin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton). Similarly this season the Flyers are starting forward Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) and point guard Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic).

Lewis dropped the game at Hinkle Fieldhouse 71-59.

Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan), a 6-2 right-side hitter for the Lewis women's volleyball team, joined the team on Dec. 8. She was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Third Team in late November following a stellar senior season with the Lewis women's volleyball team. She recorded a team-high 299 kills with 91 blocks for the Flyers in 2011 and helped Lewis to a 25-7 record. She joins the Lewis women's basketball team with junior eligibility. Koeneman will wear the number 44.
