Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team looks to ring in the New Year with a victory, as the Flyers (7-2) host Wayne State (8-2) for a 3 p.m. tip-off at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Dec. 31) afternoon.

LAST TIME WE MET - Wayne State took advantage of Lewis' 14 first-half turnovers, scoring 22 points off the miscues, on their way to the 79-66 win over the visiting Flyers at the Matthaei Center on November 18, 2010.
LAST TIME OUT - For the second-straight game, Lewis scored 50+ first-half points, as the Flyers posted 57 tallies in the opening stanza against Trinity Christian en route to the 90-59 non-conference win over the Trolls at Neil Carey Arena on December 19th. Flyer forward

Chris McClellan (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) has been hard to stop over the Flyers' past four contests, as he is averaging 18.3 points-per-game, while shooting 72.7% (24-for-33) from the field and 72.2% (13-for-18) from three-point range.
FROM WAY DOWNTOWN - Lewis connected on 10-of-19 of their three-point attempts in the win over Trinity Christian. The Flyers are 22-7 (.759) since 2006-07 when they knock down at least 50.0% of their three-point attempts (min. 5 made).
WELCOME ROOKIE - Lewis freshman guard
Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) is currently averaging 12.9 points-per-game. That is the highest scoring average by a freshman since Lewis Hall of Famer Larry Tucker poured in14.9 points-per-game in 1979-80.
CAN WE SHOOT IT? YES WE CAN - Lewis is shooting 42.4% from three-point range this season, while their opponents are connecting on just 38.4% of their total field goal attempts.
HIGH PERCENTAGE SHOT - Lewis shot a season-best 63.2% (36-for-57) from the floor in the Flyers' win over Trinity Christian. That is the best shooting performance by a Flyer squad since a 67.2% (41-for-61) showing in a 101-82 win over UW-Parkside on January 17, 2009.

David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) wears the number 12 in honor of his late brother Kevin who played for Trost at Illinois Wesleyan from 2004-06.
