Cincinnati, Ohio - The Lewis University women's tennis team got a taste of a championship atmosphere, but the Flyers will have to wait until 2012 to bring home the hardware, as No. 41 Drury claimed the 5-2 victory and the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament title at the Queen City Racquet Club on Saturday (Apr. 23) afternoon.
"We gave it a good run, but we need to learn from this experience and get better," Lewis head women's tennis coach
Brett Bridel said.
With the win, Drury improves to 12-10 on the season, while the Flyers fall to 13-6 on the campaign.

Katie Hargrove (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) for the 9-7 win over Pelagie Gamo and Valentine Lambrechts at No. 1 doubles. Kranczicki later upended Gamo at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Apr. 30), as they welcome Huntington to the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex for an 11 a.m. (CST) first serve.
