RENSSELAER, Ind. – Behind 20 digs from sophomore Amy Choi (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills), No. 17 Lewis women's volleyball swept St. Joseph's 25-21, 25-23, 25-18 Saturday afternoon in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest.

“As the match went on St. Joe's started sending over more little shots and tips,” head coach Lorelee Smith said. “Amy played looser than last night and was able to rely on her quickness to run those shots down.”

Lewis was led offensively by senior middle hitter Danielle Mount (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport)'s (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) 10 kills and .471 attack percentage. Fellow middle hitter Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) had nine kills.

“Hannah was huge,” Smith said. “We ran her up the middle and even when they put three blockers on her she couldn't be stopped.”

Junior Colleen Mitros (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) added nine kills and nine digs. Mitros played the first two sets and only a few points of the third frame.

St. Joseph's falls to 5-6 and 0-5 in the GLVC. Lewis improves to 6-4 (2-3 GLVC). The Flyers host Bellarmine on Friday at 7 p.m. The match will be aired live on Lakeshore Television.
