No. 22 Lewis women's volleyball hosts Bellarmine on Friday, Sept. 23 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match. First serve is set for 7 p.m. The match will air live on Lakeshore Public Television. Lewis is 6-4 (2-3 GLVC). Bellarmine enters the match 6-3 (2-3 GLVC).

MISS CONSISTENT
- Aside from her freshman year when she played in just 14 sets, redshirt senior middle hitter Danielle Mount (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) has been the model of consistency as far as blocking defense goes. Mount averaged 1.08 blocks a set as a sophomore (2008), 1.04 as a junior (2010) and this year is averaging 1.00. She owns a career average of 1.03 blocks per set. Simply put, you can mark down Mount for one block a set.

MOUNT BLOCK-MORE - Senior Danielle Mount (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) is seventh all-time in career blocks at Lewis with 271. She is six behind former teammate Kim Richards' (2006-09) 277. If Mount wants to reach the top five in Lewis history, she will need to top Kim Enk's (1986-88) 367.

MOUNT BLOCK(ASSIST)-MORE - Senior Danielle Mount (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) ranks seventh all-time in block assists with 211. Kim Richards (Evergreen Park, Ill./Mother McAuley) is also ahead of her in block assists, with 223. Kim Enk's 241 for fifth place could be in the reach of Mount this season.

NO HITTER - Lewis'.152 opponent hitting percentage is the second lowest in the GLVC.

GREAT WALL OF LEWIS - The Flyers also lead the GLVC in blocks, averaging 2.2 per set.

SHE'S BACK - Junior Colleen Mitros (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) is back in 2011 after redshirting last season. She leads the team in kills (113), kills per set (3.53) and points (135). Her points total has been helped by averaging 0.75 blocks per set with 24 total blocks. If she continues this average she will set a new career high for a season. Her previous season high was the 0.42 she averaged her sophomore season after recording 38 blocks.

AGAINST BELLARMINE
- Lewis has won the last 25 matches against Bellarmine. The last Knights victory came in 1992 at Bellarmine. The last time Bellarmine won at Neil Carey Arena was 1991.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME
- Lewis is 72-4 at home since 2006.

“NEW” NEIL CAREY ARENA - Friday afternoon a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held for Neil Carey Arena's latest improvements. Over the summer a new floor and roof was installed, lighting was modernized, air-conditioning was installed and overhead beams were painted red.

BIG SHOES TO FILL - Lewis had big shoes to fill after the graduation of All-American setter Rachel Ruedi (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet Seymour) last season. While senior Katie Crawford (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South), sophomore Vivian Pritz (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Township) and freshman Leigh Barea (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek) have all seen time at the setter position, it has been Barea who has seen the court the most. She did something in first career road GLVC match that Ruedi never did in her four-year career, record 60 assists in a match. While Barea's 61 assists against UW-Parkside on Sept. 23 came in a losing effort, they bested Ruedi's career best total of 59 assists. Worth noting, Ruedi's high of 59 assists came in a four-set victory over Indianapolis in last season's GLVC Championship match. Would the match have gone to five sets she likely would have surpassed Barea's 61.

LOVIN' LAKESHORE - The Lewis women's volleyball team is 4-0 all-time on Lakeshore Public Television. The Flyers upended Indianapolis and Maryville on Lakeshore last season.

DIGGING FOR MORE - Sophomore Amy Choi (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) has recorded 20 digs in a pair of three set matches this season against St. Francis and St. Joseph's. The total bests her three-set high from last year of 15.

CAREER KILLS - Junior Jen Krumwiede (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) set a career high with 19 kills against UW-Parkside on Sept. 13.

LAST TIME WE MET
- The Flyers defeated Bellarmine 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15) last season at Neil Carey Arena. Jen Krumwiede (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) set her career-best hitting percentage mark with a .455 total on 11 kills and one error. Lewis out-blocked Bellarmine 13-to-5. The Flyers had just one block in the opening set, in which the Knights won. Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) totaled six blocks (one solo) and seven kills.
