Romeoville, Ill. -
Lewis University senior forward Lonnie Lawrence (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) turned in an all-world performance against UW-Parkside on Monday (Jan. 16) night, as the Bloomington, Ill., collected a career-high 13 points, nine rebounds (6 offensive), four steals, four assists and one block to lead the Flyers to the 76-59 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the Rangers at Nei Carey Arena.

"This was maybe Lonnie's best game since he's been here," Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said. "He's an energy guy who got us some extra possessions tonight and was really aggressive offensively.

"We're a much better team when Lonnie plays like that."

Lewis senior point guard Chris McClellan (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) collected a game-high 18 points, including three trifectas, while senior forward Matt Toth (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) came off the bench to score 10 points.

"I thought we did a good job defensively tonight and made it tough for Parkside to score," Trost said. "Offensively, I thought we got some good baskets in transition and executed well."

With their third-straight win, Lewis improves to 11-4 on the campaign and 3-4 in GLVC action, while the visiting Rangers are now 8-7 overall and 1-6 in conference play.

As a team, Lewis shot 50.0% (27-for-54) from the floor and 46.7% (7-for-15) from three-point range. The Flyers also enjoyed a sizeable advantage on the glass, as they out-rebounded UW-Parkside, 38-27.

UW-Parkside senior guard Leneal Harris topped the Rangers with 16 points, while junior forward Conrad Krutwig added 10 points off of the bench.
