ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Freshman Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) led the Flyers with 14 points, one short of her career high, but Lewis women's hoops dropped a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest to No. 23 UW-Parkside 83-63 on Monday (Jan. 12) evening at Neil Carey Arena.

The Rangers took a 39-30 lead to the break thanks to a 12-2 advantage in the first half on points off turnovers. It was a six-point game at 47-41 just over five minutes into the second half when UW-Parkside used a 10-2 run to take control of the game.

“I thought during that stretch when we had some good looks we didn't finish,” head coach Lisa Carlsen said. “You can't have lapses like that against a team like Parkside because they're going to take advantage of it.”

Freshman Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) scored 10 points. Junior Sam Rinehart (Marion, Iowa/Marion) (Marion, Iowa/Marion) added eight points and six rebounds.

Brittany Beyer led UW-Parkside with 21 points while Jadee Rooney added 20. UW-Parkside shot 44.8 percent (26-of-58) while Lewis shot 40.4 percent (21-of-52). Lewis finished with a 26-20 advantage in points in the paint.

UW-Parkside improves to 12-3 (5-2 GLVC). The Flyers fall to 4-11 (2-5 GLVC). Lewis travels to Bellarmine on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. CT start.
