ALL TIME SERIES - Since entering the Division II ranks, the series is tied at 3-apiece.

LAST TIME WE MET - Lewis' stout defense held Wayne State to 28.1% (16-for-57) shooting from the floor, as the Flyers claimed the 52-41 in-region win over the visiting Warriors on December 31, 2011. Lewis freshman forward Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) led the Flyers with 14 points.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis' held Ferris State to 33.3% (16-for-48) shooting from the field and committed just nine turnovers, as the Flyers opened the season with a 60-47 in-region win over the Bulldogs on Saturday (Nov. 17) night. Flyer sophomore guard Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) posted a career-high 18 points and four assists to pace the Lewis attack, while guards Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) and David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) scored 14 and 13 points, respectively.

GETTING OUT OF THE GATE -  A win over Wayne State would put Lewis at 2-0 for the second-straight season.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING - Lewis is currently riding a 12-game non-conference winning streak, dating back to a 80-77 loss to Hillsdale on November 27, 2010.

TOUGH SLEDDING - Nine of Lewis' 12 losses in 2011-12 came against GLVC East Division opponents that were all ranked in the top-20 of the final Division II National Association of Basketball Coaches poll, including national semifinalist, Bellarmine.

BACK WHERE WE BELONG - Last season, Lewis qualified for the 2011-12 NCAA Basketball Tournament for the first time since the 2007-08 campaign.

CRASHING THE BOARDS - Lewis led GLVC freshmen in 2011-12 with 5.0 rebounds-per-game.

HONORING HIS BROTHER - Bryant wears the number 12 in honor of his late brother Kevin who played for head coach Scott Trost at Illinois Wesleyan from 2004-06.

IRON MAN - Bryant has played in all 90 possible regular-season games for the Flyers in four seasons.

GLVC FROSH OF THE YEAR - Jackson averaged 13.0 points-per-game for the Flyers last season on his way to Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the Year and Division II Bulletin All-Freshman Team accolades.

BULKING UP - Trost's 2012 recruiting class of Paul Baumgart (Canton, Mich./Canton) (6-foot-7), Jared Ellis (Marion, Ill./Marion) (6-foot-8), Brad Foster (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) (6-foot-8), David Heckman (Greenwood, Ind./Roncalli) (6-foot-6) and Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) (6-foot-7) all stand at least 6-foot-6.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS - Lewis held 10 opponents to under 60 points and three teams to under 50 points in 2011-12.

MOVING UP THE CHARTS - Trost (103-74) needs nine more wins to pass former Lewis head basketball coach and Director of Athletics Paul Ruddy (111-75) for fourth in school-history for career victories.

HANG ONTO THE BALL - Lewis' nine turnovers against Ferris State on Saturday was the fewest by a Flyer squad since they only had seven miscues against Northern Kentucky on January 21, 2012.
