Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team looks for its fourth-straight win at Nicoson Hall, as the Flyers (14-9, 6-9 GLVC) take on No. 25 Indianapolis for a 7:45 p.m. (EST) tip-off on Thursday (Feb. 16).

Thursday's contest will be broadcast live on WJOL (1340 AM) with Mark Vasko on the call. Live stats and video streaming, provided by Indianapolis, can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com.

ALL TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Flyers hold a 38-27 advantage over Indianapolis in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - Lewis rallied from an 11-point, second-half deficit to earn the 78-66 overtime victory against Indianapolis on January 26, 2012 at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers outscored UIndy, 18-6, in the extra session. Lewis senior guard Chris McClellan (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) posted a game-high 25 points, including four three-pointers, and six assists in the win.

LAST TIME OUT - No. 14 Southern Indiana parlayed a 12-2 run over the final four minutes of the first half and a dominating performance on the glass into a 70-63 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Lewis at USI's Physical Activities Center on Saturday (Feb. 11) afternoon.

FIERY FRESHMAN - Lewis freshman guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) posted a game and season-high 26 points in the Flyers' 82-74 upset of No. 7 Kentucky Wesleyan on February 9th. That is the most points scored by any Flyer freshman in the 21st century.

CHARITY STRIPE - Lewis has converted 81.9% (104-for-127) of their free throw attempts over their last six contests.

KEEP ON WINNIN' - Lewis' 86-64 win over Saint Joseph's on January 28th clinched a winning record of 5-4 for the month of January, giving the Flyers three-straight winning months. The last time Lewis accomplished that feat came during the 2007-08 campaign, which was also the last time the Flyers qualified for the NCAA Regional Tournament.

TOUGH SLEDDING - Lewis' nine losses this season have come against teams that are a combined 107-31 (.775) for the 2011-12 campaign.

CLOSE CALLS - During Scott Trost's career at Lewis, the Flyers are 26-26 (.500) in games decided by five points or less, which accounts for 31.0% of the 168 games he has coached in.

IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY - Lewis would hold the No. 10 seed in the GLVC Tournament and take to the road to meet No. 7 seed Quincy in the first round on February 26th.

EXTRA EFFORT - Lewis' win over Indianapolis on January 26th, marked the Flyers' second overtime win this season. That is the first time a Flyer squad has accomplished that feat since the 2007-08 campaign when they went 2-2 in free basketball. The last time Lewis won three overtime games came during the 1993-94 season.

ROAD WARRIORS - A win over Indianapolis would bring Lewis' road record to 5-5 on the season. The last time the Flyers had a road record of .500 or above was during the 2003-04 campaign when they went 7-5.

HONORING HIS BROTHER - Junior guard David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) wears the number 12 in honor of his late brother Kevin who played for Trost at Illinois Wesleyan from 2004-06.

50/50 - Lewis is 8-0 this year when they have a field goal percentage of 50.0% or better. Since the 2006-07 campaign, the Flyers have a record of 54-10 (.843) when they shoot over 50.0%.

NOT MY BROTHER - Senior forward Justin Jarosz (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport) and freshman guard Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) are not related.

FAB FROSH - Forward Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) is tops among GLVC freshmen with 5.0 rebounds-per-game. Jackson is tops among GLVC rookies, averaging 13.1 points-per-contest - which is also the most by a Flyer freshman since Lewis Hall of Famer Larry Tucker averaged 14.9 points-per-game in 1979-80.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN - Lewis is 24-8 (.750) since 2006-07 when they knock down at least 50.0% of their three-point attempts (min. 5 made).

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN (PART DEUX) - Lewis is currently shooting 41.2% (159-for-386) from long range, which would be a Flyer single-season, school-record.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS - Lewis has held nine opponents this season to under 60 points, which is the most by a Flyer squad since the 2001-02 season when they did it 11 times.

CENTURY CLUB - Trost needs one more victory to reach 100 wins as the Flyers' head coach.

SEASON-ENDER - Lewis has ended UIndy's season in each of the last two GLVC Men's Basketball Tournaments.
