University Center, Mich. - The 2012 campaign got off to a rough start for the Lewis University men's soccer team, as No. 22 Saginaw Valley State posted two goals in the first 20 minutes on their way to the 3-1 regional victory over the visiting Flyers at the SVSU Soccer Complex on Thursday (August 30) afternoon.
SVSU senior Zach Myers posted two goals to lead the Cardinals, while Conor Reaume added an unassisted tally in the 20th minute.
With the win, SVSU improves to 1-0, while the Flyers are now 0-1.

Guy Claude Ngbwa-Ngbwa (Jeffersonville, Penn./Immaculate Conception) (Jeffersonville, Penn./Immaculate Conception) posted his first goal in a Lewis uniform in the 32nd minute off of an
Arlind Kociu (Chicago, Ill./Taft) (Chicago, Ill./Taft) assist. That goal cut SVSU's lead to 2-1, but Myers added the insurance score at the 77-minute mark.
Sophomore forward
George Thomson (Kilmarnock, Scotland/Reid Kerr College) (Kilmarnock, Scotland/Reid Kerr College) was the only other Flyer to register a shot on goal.

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 1), as they take on Findlay for an 11 AM (EST) first kick.
