Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team looks for its second upset in as many games, as the Flyers (11-5, 5-3 GLVC) welcome No. 10 Southern Indiana (13-3, 6-2 GLVC) on Saturday (Jan. 26) afternoon. Tip-off is set for 3 PM at Neil Carey Arena.
Live stats, audio and video streaming of Saturday's game can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com. Saturday's contest can also be heard on WJOL (1340 AM) and www.LewisFlyers.com with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network and WLRA (88.1 FM) with Jesse Hardacre and Scott Turek on the call.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis shot 53.2% (25-for-47) from the field and 50.0% (6-for-12) from three-point range, as the host Flyers claimed the 75-71 upset win over No. 3 Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday (Jan. 24) night. Lewis senior guard David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) posted a game-high 19 points, including four three-pointers for the Flyers.

ALL-TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, Southern Indiana owns a 40-21 advantage over the Flyers in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - No. 14 Southern Indiana parlayed a 12-2 run over the final four minutes of the first half and a dominating performance on the glass into a 70-63 victory over Lewis on February 11, 2012. Southern Indiana out-rebounded Lewis 40-26, including 16 offensive caroms, which led to 14 second-chance points.

MOVING UP THE CHARTS - With Monday's victory over Kentucky Wesleyan, Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost (113-78) has claimed sole possession of fourth-place in school history for career wins by a Flyer coach.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - Lewis has had five games of less than 10 turnovers this season. That's the most by a Flyer squad since they had 10 of those contests during the 2003-04 campaign.

IRON MAN - Bryant has played in all 105 possible games for the Flyers in four seasons.

FOR CONTINUITY SAKE - Only six players have started at least one game for Lewis this season, giving the Flyers the fewest starting line-up combinations in the GLVC.

TOUGH ROAD - Including Saturday's contest against Southern Indiana, five of Lewis' next six games are against teams currently ranked No. 11 or higher in the most recent NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll.

KNOCKING THEM DOWN - Lewis sophomore guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) has converted his last 25 free throws.

CRASHING THE BOARDS - Freshman forward Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) is second on the team in rebounding with 4.5 caroms-per-game. He also has more offensive (37) than defensive (35) rebounds this season.

REBOUNDING ADVANTAGE - Lewis is 36-8 during Trost's tenure when they out-rebound their opponents by 10 or more.

BLOCK PARTY - Nelson currently leads the GLVC in blocked shots (28). The St. Charles, Ill., native needs five more swats to break into Lewis' top 10 for blocked shots in a single season.

YOUNG GUNS - Lewis is the youngest team in the GLVC, as the Flyers have just two active upperclassmen on the roster and three total upperclassmen on the team. Quincy is next youngest squad with three active upperclassmen.

HONORING HIS BROTHER - Bryant wears the number 12 in honor of his late brother Kevin who played for Trost at Illinois Wesleyan from 2004-06.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS -
Lewis has held four opponents to under 50 points this season. The last time the Flyers held more than four teams to under 50 points, came during the 1985-86 campaign, when they did it six times.

BIG WIN - Lewis' 35-point victory over Rockhurst on January 12th is the second time the Flyers have won by 35+ points this season. The last time they accomplished that feat three times came during the 2002-03 campaign.

STREAK STOPPERS - Lewis is looking to end a six-game losing streak to the Screaming Eagles, dating back to January 12, 2008.

LESS IS MORE - Lewis is 7-3 when Jackson scores 10 or fewer points during his career.
