Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team takes on its third-straight nationally-ranked team, as the Flyers (11-6, 5-4 GLVC) meet No. 15 Indianapolis (14-3, 6-3 GLVC) on Thursday (Jan. 31) night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM (EST) at Nicoson Hall.
Live stats and video streaming of Thursday's game - provided by Indianapolis - can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com. Thursday's contest can also be heard on WJOL (1340 AM) and www.LewisFlyers.com with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis' attempt to rally from a 19-point second-half deficit fell short, as No. 10 Southern Indiana earned the 65-64 win over the Flyers on Saturday (Jan. 26). Lewis senior guard David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) topped the Flyers with 18 points, including four three-pointers.

ALL-TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Flyers hold a 38-28 advantage over Indianapolis in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - No. 25 Indianapolis scored 52 second-half points to rally from an eight-point halftime deficit and claim the 73-64 win over the Flyers on February 16, 2012. Indianapolis senior guard Adrian Moss posted a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists for the host Greyhounds.

MOVING UP THE CHARTS - With last week's victory over Kentucky Wesleyan, Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost (113-80) has claimed sole possession of fourth-place in school history for career wins by a Flyer coach.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - Lewis has had six games of less than 10 turnovers this season. That's the most by a Flyer squad since they had 10 of those contests during the 2003-04 campaign.

IRON MAN - Bryant has played in all 106 possible games for the Flyers in four seasons.

CLOSE CALLS - Each of Lewis' last four games has been decided by four points or less. That hasn't happened since the 1998-99 campaign and it hasn't been done in five straight games during the Division II era for the Flyers.

FOR CONTINUITY SAKE - Only six players have started at least one game for Lewis this season, giving the Flyers the fewest starting line-up combinations in the GLVC.

TOUGH ROAD - Including Thursday's contest against Indianapolis, four of Lewis' next five games are against teams currently ranked No. 18 or higher in the most recent NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll.

KNOCKING THEM DOWN - Lewis sophomore guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) has converted his last 27 free throws.

REBOUNDING ADVANTAGE - Lewis is 36-8 during Trost's tenure when they out-rebound their opponents by 10 or more.

BLOCK PARTY - Freshman forward Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) currently leads the GLVC in blocked shots (30). The St. Charles, Ill., native needs three more swats to break into Lewis' top 10 for blocked shots in a single season.

YOUNG GUNS - Lewis is the youngest team in the GLVC, as the Flyers have just two active upperclassmen on the roster and three total upperclassmen on the team. Quincy is next youngest squad with three active upperclassmen.

HONORING HIS BROTHER - Bryant wears the number 12 in honor of his late brother Kevin who played for Trost at Illinois Wesleyan from 2004-06.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS - Lewis has held four opponents to under 50 points this season. The last time the Flyers held more than four teams to under 50 points, came during the 1985-86 campaign, when they did it six times.

BIG WIN - Lewis' 35-point victory over Rockhurst on January 12th is the second time the Flyers have won by 35+ points this season. The last time they accomplished that feat three times came during the 2002-03 campaign.

LESS IS MORE - Lewis is 7-3 when Jackson scores 10 or fewer points during his career.

GETTING TO THE LINE? - Lewis has not attempted a free throw shot in the last 22 minutes dating back to the first half of their contest against USI on Saturday.
