Lewis Women’s Swimming Falls to No. 15 Grand Valley State, 191-90

Allendale, Mich. – The Lewis University women's swimming team fell to No. 15 Grand Valley State 191-90 on Saturday (Nov. 2) at GVSU Pool to move to 1-1 in dual meet action this season.
 
"We swam very well against a tough team today," Lewis head women's swimming coach Roger Karns said. "This meet showed us where we need to continue to do some work, but we are pleased with our forward momentum."
 
Freshman Kara Treacy (Corpus Christi, Texas/Flour Bluff) won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:41.14, as classmate Brittnie Dean (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) tapped the wall in second with a time of 11:03.30. Treacy took second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.23).
 
Freshman Shannon Sullivan (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.65 and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (53.23).
 
Sophomore Montana Clasby (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) took first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.17) and second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.54).
 
The Flyers return to the pool on Saturday (Nov. 9) when they travel to Indiana to take on Valparaiso University.
