LAST TIME OUT - Lewis, led by 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists from junior Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield), went on an 11-2 run over the final two minutes to claim the 78-72 regional win over Ferris State at Neil Carey Arena on Wednesday (Nov. 20) night.

ALL TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Flyers own a 3-1 advantage over the Wildcats in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - Lewis held Northern Michigan to a 30.2% (16-for-53) shooting performance from the field and forced 18 turnovers to earn the 64-45 regional win over the Wildcats at Neil Carey Arena on December 30, 2012. Jackson led the Flyers with a game-high 14 points.

REBOUNDING ADVANTAGE - Lewis is 40-8 (.833) during head men's basketball coach Scott Trost's tenure when they out-rebound their opponents by 10 or more.

LESS IS MORE - Lewis is 8-3 when Jackson scores fewer than 10 points during his career.

WINNING WAYS - Lewis finished the 2012-13 campaign with 19 victories - which was the most by a Flyer squad since the 2007-08 edition that went 20-11.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES - Jackson has been selected to both the Sporting News and Division II Bulletin Preseason Honorable Mention All-America Men's Basketball Teams.

EXPERIENCED BUNCH - Lewis returns 11 letterwinners to the court and eight players that averaged at least 13 minutes-per-game in 2012-13.

DON'T OVERLOOK LEWIS - For the third time since 2009, the Flyers earned a win over a Division I team, as Lewis handed Loyola an 82-70 defeat on November 2nd. Lewis had previously defeated UIC (2009) and DePaul (2010).

A LOT OF FIREPOWER - The Flyers lost just one player from their 2012-13 squad and return 81.8% (1,645-of-2,010) of their scoring output and 89.1% (819-of-919) of their rebounding from last season.

TOUGH SLEDDING - Five of Lewis' nine losses in 2012-13 came against GLVC opponents that were all ranked in the top-15 of the final Division II National Association of Basketball Coaches poll, including National Champion, Drury.

TRIPLE THREAT - Jackson led the Flyers in points (22), rebounds (8) and assists (5) against Ferris State. That is the fourth time in his career that he has accomplished that feat.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - Lewis' point guard tandem of Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) and Gabe Williams (Chicago, Ill./Farragut) have totaled nine assists to only one turnover in two contests this season. Jarosz has seven assists and one turnover, while Williams has dished out two helpers.

HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS - Lewis has won both of its games this season after trailing at halftime. The Flyers won four games for the entire 2012-13 campaign after being down at the intermission.
