Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team continues its trek through the GLIAC, as the Flyers (3-0) welcome Wayne State (1-0) for a regional showdown at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Nov. 30) afternoon. Tip-off is set for 3 PM.
Live stats, audio and video streaming of Saturday's contest can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com and can also be heard on WJOL (1340 AM) with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network. The contest will also be broadcast on WLRA (88.1 FM) with Shane Gustafson and Scott Turek on the call.

ALL TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, Wayne State owns a 4-3 advantage over the Flyers in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - Wayne State's Chene Phillips (23 points) and Cole Prophet (20 points) combined for 43 points in the Warriors' 70-69 win over Lewis in Detroit on November 12, 2012.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis, led by a career-high 22 points from junior forward Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), shot 63.9% (23-for-36) from the field and turned the ball over just six times in the 78-68 win over Northern Michigan on Sunday (Nov. 30).

MARK OF EFFICIENCY - Lewis' shooting performance against Northern Michigan was its best since a 67.2% (41-for-61) outing in a 101-82 win over UW-Parkside on January 17, 2009. It was also the fewest shots by a Flyer squad in the Scott Trost era.

HOME COOKING - The home team has won the last four contests between Lewis and Wayne State. The last time a visiting team won was on March 13, 2004, as the eighth-seeded Warriors defeated top-seeded Lewis, 65-62, in a NCAA Great Lakes Regional quarterfinal match-up.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING - Lewis has an eight-game winning streak against non-conference opponents, dating back to a 79-70 win over Cedarville on November 30, 2012.

LESS IS MORE - Lewis is 8-3 when junior guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) scores fewer than 10 points during his career.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES - Jackson has been selected to both the Sporting News and Division II Bulletin Preseason Honorable Mention All-America Men's Basketball Teams.

TRIPLE THREAT - Jackson led the Flyers in points (22), rebounds (8) and assists (5) against Ferris State on November 20th. That is the fourth time in his career that he has accomplished that feat.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - Lewis' point guard tandem of Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) and Gabe Williams (Chicago, Ill./Farragut) have totaled 11 assists to only one turnover in three contests this season. Jarosz has nine assists and one turnover, while Williams has two helpers.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK (PART DEUX) - Lewis has had single-digit turnovers in each of their last two games. The Flyers have not had three straight games with less than 10 turnovers during the Scott Trost era.

HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS - Lewis has won two of three games this season after trailing at halftime. The Flyers won four games for the entire 2012-13 campaign after being down at the intermission.

GETTING TO THE LINE - Lewis is averaging 27 free throws per game this season, which is the most by a Flyer squad during the Scott Trost era. Jackson is averaging 11.3 trips to the stripe per game for the Flyers.

A LOT OF FIREPOWER - The Flyers lost just one player from their 2012-13 squad and return 81.8% (1,645-of-2,010) of their scoring output and 89.1% (819-of-919) of their rebounding from last season.

TOUGH SLEDDING - Five of Lewis' nine losses in 2012-13 came against GLVC opponents that were all ranked in the top-15 of the final Division II National Association of Basketball Coaches poll, including National Champion, Drury.
