Lewis Women's Basketball Hosts Saint Joseph's On Saturday

Tip-off is set for 5 PM at Neil Carey Arena

The Flyers will look to extend their four-game winning streak on Saturday.

Romeoville, Ill. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division leading Lewis University women's basketball team (15-3, 8-2 GLVC) hosts Saint Joseph's (1-17, 0-10 GLVC) on Saturday (Feb. 2) at Neil Carey Arena. Tip-off is set for at 5 PM.

  Live stats and video streaming of Saturday's game can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com. Saturday's contest can also be seen on Lakeshore Public TV with Scott Slocum calling the play-by-play with former Lewis standout and assistant coach Tracy Summers providing commentary. Lakeshore PTV can be seen over the air and on satellite through DirectTV and Dish Network on Channel 56 and on Comcast Cable 17 or 21 throughout its viewing area.

  Fans can also tune in at WJOL (1340 AM) and www.LewisFlyers.com with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network and WLRA (88.1 FM) with Jesse Hardacre and Scott Turek on the call.
 
LAST TIME OUT - Lewis came back from a 15-point deficit in the second half to force two overtime periods for the 78-75 victory over No. 19 Indianapolis on Thursday (Jan. 31). Sophomore Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) scored 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
 
RINEHART NETS WEEKLY GLVC HONOR - Senior Sam Rinehart (Marion, Iowa/Marion) averaged 15.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in leading Lewis to a perfect 3-0 week, to earn the team's second weekly award this season on Monday (Jan. 28).
 
ALL TIME SERIES - The Flyers lead 35-32.
 
TWO IN A ROW OVER RANKED TEAMS - The Flyers' back-to-back wins over No. 23 Southern Indiana and No. 19 Indianapolis was the first time since the 2006-07 season the squad defeated nationally ranked teams. During the 06-07 season, Lewis defeated four ranked teams.
 
SAME STARTIN' FIVE - The Flyers can boast that their starting line-up has remained the same in all 18 of the team's games this season.
 
LAST TIME WE MET - The Flyers defeated the Pumas 72-70 at Neil Carey Arena (Feb. 18, 2012) after Lewis freshman Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) contested Saint Joseph's Montrell Mills' jumper from the free throw line just enough to miss the mark at the buzzer.
 
LEWIS RECEIVES VOTES IN DII POLL - The Flyers received 36 votes in the third straight weekly USA TODAY Sports Division II Basketball Coaches Poll that was released on Tuesday (Jan. 29). 
 
NATIONAL RANKINGS - Lewis is in the top-10 in the NCAA national statistical rankings that were released on Friday (Feb 1). The Flyers are No. 7 in three-point field-goal defense (24.2%) and No. 10 in field-goal percentage (44.1%).
 
FLYERS STACKING UP AGAINST THE GLVC - Junior guard Alexus Grayer (Washington, Ill./Washington) is second in the conference with a 46.2% three-point field-goal percentage while sophomore guard Nikki Nellen (New Berlin, Wis./Pius XI) is second in the GLVC with 4.8 assists per game.
 
ALL-TIMER - Senior Labrenthia Murdock (Round Lake, Ill./Round Lake) has moved up to No. 7 in school history with 85 blocks. Erin Cox (203-07) is sitting at No. 6 with 89 career blocks. Murdock's team-leading 23 blocks is third in the GLVC.
 
1,000 POINTS - Murdock became the 19th player in program history to score 1,000 points on Thursday (Jan. 31) when she scored 16 points against No. 19 Indianapolis.
 
NUMBERS VS. THE GLVC - The Flyers top the GLVC in field-goal percentage (44.6%), three-point field-goal percentage (38.2%), scoring (74.4) and three-point field-goal defense (23.8%), and are second in field-goal percentage defense (35.5%), assists (16.4 per-game average), and defensive rebounds (30.4 per-game average) in the GLVC.
 
UNDERCLASSMEN LOGGIN' ON - The Flyers are an underclassmen laden squad, as the six sophomores and freshmen are averaging at least 7.8 minutes per contest.
