Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball seeks to snap a seven-game losing streak to No. 10 Southern Indiana (16-3, 9-2 GLVC) on Thursday (Feb. 7), as the Flyers (12-7, 6-5 GLVC) and Screaming Eagles are set to square off for a 7:30 PM tip-off at USI's Physical Activities Center.
Live stats and video streaming - provided by Southern Indiana of Thursday's game can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com. Thursday's contest can also be heard on WJOL (1340 AM) and www.LewisFlyers.com with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis held Saint Joseph's to a 30.2% (19-for-63) shooting performance from the floor, as the Flyers earned the 69-49 win over the Pumas on Saturday (Feb. 2) evening. Lewis sophomore guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) collected a game-high 18 points for the Flyers.

ALL-TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Screaming Eagles hold a 41-21 advantage over the Flyers in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - Lewis' rally from a 19-point, second-half deficit fell short as No. 10 Southern Indiana held on for the 65-64 win over the Flyers at Neil Carey Arena on January 26th.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - Lewis has had six games of less than 10 turnovers this season. That's the most by a Flyer squad since they had 10 of those contests during the 2003-04 campaign.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK (PART DEUX) - Lewis currently has more assists (244) than turnovers (221) - which hasn't happened since the 2009-10 campaign.

REBOUNDING ADVANTAGE - Lewis is 37-8 during head men's basketball coach Scott Trost's tenure when they out-rebound their opponents by 10 or more.

IRON MAN - Senior guard David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) has played in all 108 possible games for the Flyers in four seasons.

HONORING HIS BROTHER - Bryant wears the number 12 in honor of his late brother Kevin who played for Trost at Illinois Wesleyan from 2004-06.

BIG WIN - Lewis' 35-point victory over Rockhurst on January 12th is the second time the Flyers have won by 35+ points this season. The last time they accomplished that feat three times came during the 2002-03 campaign.

LESS IS MORE - Lewis is 7-3 when Jackson scores 10 or fewer points during his career.

FOR CONTINUITY SAKE - Only six players have started at least one game for Lewis this season, giving the Flyers the fewest starting line-up combinations in the GLVC.

BLOCK PARTY - Freshman forward Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) currently leads the GLVC in blocked shots (33), which ties him for ninth in Lewis history for blocks for a season.  The St. Charles, Ill., native needs three more swats to pass Tarrie Monroe (1999-2000) and move into sole possession of eighth-place in school history.

YOUNG GUNS - Lewis is the youngest team in the GLVC, as the Flyers have just two active upperclassmen on the roster and three total upperclassmen on the team. Quincy is next youngest squad with three active upperclassmen.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS - Lewis has held five opponents to under 50 points this season. The last time the Flyers held more than five teams to under 50 points, came during the 1985-86 campaign, when they did it six times.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN - Dating back to last season, Bryant has hit at least one three-pointer in each of his last 20 contests.

THE LAST TIME...- Lewis' last victory over Southern Indiana came during the 2007-08 campaign, as the Flyers claimed the 87-77 win over the Screaming Eagles in Evansville on January 12, 2008. Lewis junior Jason Genova (Chicago, Ill./St. Patrick) posted career-high 36 points, including eight three-pointers.

SOPHOMORE SLUMP? - Jackson is averaging a team-best 17.1 points-per-game for the Flyers. He is the first Flyer sophomore to lead the squad in scoring since Chris McClellan (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) poured in 14.1 points-per-game in 2009-10.

DEAD EYE - Over the past six games, Lewis is shooting an outstanding 84.3% (86-for-102) from the free throw line. Prior to that, Lewis made just 67.3% (177-for-263) of their charity tosses.
