Indianapolis, Ind. - The No. 41 Lewis University women's tennis team rallied from a 2-1 deficit following doubles play to earn the 6-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the University of Indianapolis at the UIndy Tennis Center on Saturday (March 30) afternoon.
"We uncharacteristically gave away some doubles matches today, but I am so proud of the way we responded in singles," Lewis head women's tennis coach
Brett Bridel said. "Everyone stepped up when we needed it."
The victory extends Lewis' winning streak to three matches and the Flyers move to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in GLVC action. Indianapolis drops to 4-3 on the campaign and 1-1 in conference play.
The Flyers earned their lone doubles victory at No. 1, where juniors
Zsofia Lanstiak (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium) (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium) and
Zsofia Kranczicki (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium) (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium) claimed the 8-0 whitewash over Taylor Eckert and Allie Smith. Lanstiak also beat Smith, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, while Kranczicki defeated Eckert, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.

Kendra Mills (Elmhurst, Ill./York) (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was victorious over Claire Liles, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 6 singles.
Lewis returns to action on Thursday (April 4), as the Flyers head to Bourbonnais, Ill., to meet Olivet Nazarene for a 3:30 PM non-conference tilt.
