Indianapolis, Ind. - The No. 41 Lewis University women's tennis team fell short in its bid to repeat as the Great Lakes Valley Conference champion, as No. 29 Drury earned the 5-3 victory over the Flyers in the 2013 GLVC Women's Tennis Championship at the UIndy Tennis Center on Saturday (Apr. 20) afternoon.

With the win, Drury improves to 18-3 overall and snaps the Flyers' 11-match winning streak. Lewis is now 14-4 on the season and will await word on who their opponent will be in the upcoming NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament.

Lewis junior and GLVC Player of the Year Zsofia Lanstiak (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium) (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium) led the Flyers with two victories on Saturday. Lanstiak paired with junior Zsofia Kranczicki (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium) (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium) for the 8-3 win over Drury's Beatriz Juan and Stefanie Monsch at No. 1 doubles. Lanstiak added a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Juan at No. 1 singles.

The Flyers' other win came at No. 2 doubles, as sophomore Brianna Markgraf (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) and freshman Megan Nguyen (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora) (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora) defeated Drury's Natalia Kozel and Hadeil Ali, 8-5.
