Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team opens a five-game road stand through the GLVC, as the Flyers (10-0, 2-0 GLVC) head to St. Louis to square off with Maryville (7-3, 1-1 GLVC) on Thursday (Jan. 9) night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM at Moloney Arena.

ALL TIME SERIES - Since entering the Division II ranks, Lewis owns a 2-1 advantage over the Saints in their all-time series.
LAST TIME WE MET - Maryville connected on 14 three-pointers, including the game-winning trifecta by Corey Washburn, with 2.7 seconds left to earn the 64-61 win over Lewis on January 5, 2012.
LAST TIME OUT - Lewis had five players score in double-figures and hit 29-of-31 free throws en route to the 85-69 GLVC win over Quincy on Sunday (Jan. 5).
CHARITY STRIPE - Lewis shot 93.5% (29-for-31) from the free throw line against Quincy on Sunday. That is their best shooting performance since they hit all six of their attempts against Illinois-Springfield on December 6, 2004.
WE'RE GOING STREAKING - The Flyers are off to their best start to a season since Lewis went 13-0 to begin the 1988-89 campaign.
WE'RE GOING STREAKING (PART DEUX) - With their win over Quincy, the Flyers have their first 10-game winning streak since the 2003-04 campaign. That season, Lewis went 15 games without a loss.
CLOSE CALLS - Lewis is 2-0 in games decided by five points or less this season. Last season, the Flyers were 4-4 in games decided by five points or less.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE - Lewis has recorded five double-doubles this season. That is the most double-doubles by a Flyer squad since they had nine during the 2009-10 campaign.
TRIPLE THREAT - Lewis junior guard
Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) led the Flyers in points (21), rebounds (9) and assists (4) against Quincy on Sunday (Jan. 5). That is the second time this season and the fifth time in his career that he has accomplished that feat.
MODEL OF EFFICIENCY - Lewis took a conference-low 36 shots against Northern Michigan (Nov. 24) and still came away with the 78-68 win. The Flyers shot 63.9% (23-for-36) from the field and 71.1% (27-for-38) from the free throw line.
MODEL OF EFFICIENCY (PART DEUX) - Lewis shot 67.4% (29-for-43) from the field in their win over Malone on Dec. 21st. That is the best outing by a Flyer squad since they converted 69.4% (34-for-49) of their attempts in an 84-65 win over Illinois-Springfield on December 6, 2004. It is also the best shooting performance by any team in the GLVC this season.
COMEBACK KIDS - Lewis has trailed in the second half in five of its 10 victories this season.
TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - As of January 6th, Lewis is seventh in the country, committing just 9.8 turnovers-per-game. The Flyers have had five games this season with less than 10 turnovers.
TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK (PART DEUX) - Junior guard
Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) has a GLVC-best assist/turnover ratio of 3.9-to-1, as of January 6th. That mark is also the seventh best in the country.
TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK (PART TROIS) - Lewis committed a season-low four turnovers in the win over Truman State on Friday (Jan. 3). That is the fewest miscues by a Flyer squad since they had three against St. Francis (Ill.) on December 11, 2010. It is also the fewest turnovers by any team in the GLVC this season.
HE CAN SCORE TOO - Over his last four games, Jarosz is averaging 17.8 points-per-game, shooting 61.8% (34-for-55) from the field.
NATIONALLY RANKED - Lewis moved up five spots in the NABC/Division II Coaches Poll on Tuesday (Jan. 7) ranking 17th in the country. The Flyers were last nationally ranked at the conclusion of the 2003-04 campaign, where they were 17th in the final poll.
SMOKIN' HOT - Lewis has won 18 of its last 20 contests dating back to the 2012-13 campaign. During that stretch, the Flyers have defeated three teams that were ranked in the NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll.
SMOKIN' HOT (PART DEUX) - Four of Lewis' five starters are shooting at least 53.8% for the season, including Jarosz,
Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor),
Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) and
Nick Valla (Tinley Park, Ill./Marist). Jarosz leads the way at 61.0%, followed by Nelson (60.4%), Lewis (60.0%) and Valla (53.8%).
UNDEFEATED - There are 12 teams in Division II that are undefeated (as of January 5th). The GLVC accounts for 33.3% of those squads as Lewis, Bellarmine, Southern Indiana and Drury have yet to lose.
