Winneconne, Wis. - Lewis University sophomore
Amanda Farrough (South Bend, Ind./Clay) turned in a career-best time of 21:36 to help the Flyers finish 14th overall at the 6K UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational at the Lake Breeze Golf Club on Saturday (Oct. 18) morning.
Farrough finished 12th overall in the race. Her previous best 6K time was 21:37.4, set at the 2013 NCAA Championships. Lewis redshirt senior
Ciersten Deardorf (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) was the other Top 50 performer for the Flyers with a 46th-place and career-best showing of 22:22.
"I thought Amanda ran fantastic, as well as Ciersten," Lewis head women's cross country coach
James Kearney said. "We really need to work on getting ourselves into position earlier, so we can do a better job of running more consistently. We didn't perform as well as we did in Louisville, but I thought we made a lot of progress today."
Grand Valley State won the team title with 40 points, while Washington University's Lucy Cheadle took home the individual championship with a time of 20:44.01. Lewis was 14th out of 42 teams with 439 points.

Jaime Hershfang (Chicago, Ill./Walter Payton Prep) was the third Flyer to cross the finish line with a time of 23:02 - good for 97th -Â while senior
Monica Hahn (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) placed 117th with a career-best time of 23:13. Lewis sophomore
Abby Dodis (Sugar Grove, Ill./Kaneland) rounded out the scoring for the Flyers with a 167th-place finish of 23:52.
Lewis returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 25), as they travel to Evansville to participate in the Southern Indiana Regional Preview at 10:30 AM.
