Senior setter
Leigh Barea (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek) played only the first set, but recorded 14 assists. Sophomore setter
Abby Biggs (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) recorded 21 assists in two sets of action.
Of the three sets, set two was the closest down the stretch. It was a 23-22 Lewis advantage when the Flyers used a Kentucky State service error and a kill by junior
Lauren O'Brien (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) to put the set away. The Flyers won the third and final set by closing the frame on an 11-2 run.
Lewis improves to 17-4. Kentucky State falls to 19-3. The Flyers are back in action this weekend with a pair of matches in the Kansas City area. Lewis will try to avoid World Series fever as they play Rockhurst on Saturday and William Jewell on Sunday.
