Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team kicks off a three-game road swing through the GLIAC, as the Flyers (2-0) square off with Saginaw Valley State (1-1) at James E. O'Neill Arena on Thursday (Nov. 20) night. Tip-off is set for 7 PM ET.

ALL-TIME SERIES - This is the first meeting between these two teams.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis, paced by 20 points and 10 rebounds from freshman guard Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg), led from start to finish as the Flyers earned the 91-62 regional victory over Malone at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Nov. 15) afternoon.

NATIONALLY RANKED - Lewis is ranked in the following preseason Top 25 Polls including Division II Bulletin (No. 11), NABC (No. 17) and Basketball Times (No. 17). The next poll will be released on November 25th.

PROUD PROGRAM - Lewis is one of seven Division II schools in the country that has both their men's and women's basketball programs ranked in the Top 25. The Flyer women's team checked in at No. 9 in the USA TODAY Sports Division II Coaches Poll released on Tuesday (November 4).

DOUBLE-DOUBLE - Lewis senior forward Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) recorded eight of Lewis' 11 double-doubles in 2013-14.

TRIPLE THREAT - Senior guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) has led the Flyers in points, rebounds and assists in a single game, five times during his career.

THE LAST TIME - Strus is the first Flyer freshman to score at least 20 points in a game since Jackson did it as a rookie in 2011-12.

THE LAST TIME (PART DEUX) - Lewis has not recorded back-to-back 90+ point games since the 2009-10 campaign against Purdue Calumet (W, 90-71; 12-22-09) and Trinity Christian (W, 95-73; 12-29-09).

GETTING TO THE LINE - Lewis is 9-0 over the past two seasons when Jackson gets to the free throw line at least 10 times.

SMOKIN' HOT - Lewis has won 31 of its last 39 contests dating back to the 2012-13 campaign for a winning percentage of .795. During that stretch, the Flyers have defeated five teams that were ranked in the NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll. The Flyers have won 42 games since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

CRASHING THE GLASS - Lewis' 46 rebounds against Malone was the most by a Flyer squad since they grabbed 46 caroms in a 69-49 win over Saint Joseph's on February 2, 2013. The Flyers have not collected back-to-back, 40-rebound games since the 2012-13 campaign against William Jewell (40) and Rockhurst (44).

PRESEASON PICK - Jackson has received several preseason accolades including Preseason All-American (Basketball Times) and Preseason Honorable Mention All-American (Sporting News; Division II Bulletin).

RANKED SCHMANKED - Lewis has defeated at least one nationally-ranked Division II team in each of the last four seasons.

WINNING WAYS - Lewis won 21 games in 2013-14, which was the most by a Flyer squad since they had 24 victories  in the 2003-04 campaign.

FIREPOWER - Lewis returns 13 letterwinners, four starters and 90.2% of their scoring from their 2013-14 roster.

BROTHERS DON'T SHAKE HANDS - Strus is the brother of former Flyer standout Marty Strus. Marty Strus (2008-12) is Lewis' all-time leader in career blocked shots (181).

ALL-GLVC - Lewis had three All-GLVC performers in 2013-14 including Jackson (First Team), senior point guard Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) (Second Team) and Lewis (All-Defensive Team).

TOP 10 - Jackson needs 114 points to crack the All-Time Top 10 in Lewis career scoring.

300/150 CLUB - Lewis head coach Scott Trost needs four wins to reach 300 for his career and six victories to reach 150 as the Flyers' skipper.

1,000 ON THE HORIZON - Lewis needs 187 points to reach 1,000 for his career.

1,000/700 CLUB - Lewis needs 187 points and 155 rebounds to become the fourth Flyer in school history to notch at least 1,000 points and 700 rebounds in the Division II era.

WINNING WITH CLASS - Lewis' current senior class (2011) needs 16 wins to reach the most victories (75) by a Trost recruiting class, set by last year's seniors.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN - Seven different Flyers have connected for at least one three pointer in Lewis' first two games this season.

ROAD OPENERS - Lewis is 5-3 in road openers during Trost's tenure.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING - Lewis has a 13-game winning streak against non-conference opponents, dating back to a 79-70 win over Cedarville on November 30, 2012.

DEEP BENCH - Lewis has nine players who are averaging at least 14.5 minutes-per-game this season.

EFFICIENT SHOOTING - Lewis has shot over 50% in each of their first two contests. They accomplished that feat 15 times during the 2013-14 campaign.
