Romeoville, Ill. - The No. 23 Lewis University men's basketball team shot 57.7% (15-for-26) in the second half and held McKendree to 34.6% (9-for-26) from the floor in the final stanza, as the host Flyers earned the 84-73 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the Bearcats at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Feb. 23) afternoon.
For the game, Lewis shot 54.1% (33-for-61) from the field, marking the fourth time in the last five games that the Flyers converted over 50.0% of their attempts. McK shot 44.9% (22-for-49) after knocking down 56.5% (13-for-23) in the first half.

Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) posted a game-high 24 points and led the Flyers with five assists. Junior forward
Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) garnered a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore reserve forward
Brad Foster (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) collected a career-high 12 points along with five rebounds and three blocked shots.

Scott Trost said. "I thought McKendree played very well, but we had some big contributions from Foster, Gabe (Williams) played much better and Ryan (Jackson) was his usual self.
"It was a good overall win against a team that has been playing very well of late."
With the victory, Lewis improves to 21-4 overall and 13-4 in GLVC action, while the visiting Bearcats drop to 9-16 on the campaign and 3-14 in conference play.
McKendree guards Mike DiGregorio and Logan Carson proved to be nuisances for the Flyers, as they combined for nine three-pointers and 40 points in the loss. DiGregorio was 4-for-8 from long range and finished with a team-high 21 points, while Carson knocked down five trifectas and finished with 19 points.
Bearcat forward Will Kirksey finished with 16 points, while fellow post Arthur Williams had 13 points and a team-best seven rebounds.
The Flyers, again, took care of the ball, as they committed just seven turnovers on the afternoon and also tied a season-high with eight blocked shots, led by Foster's three swats. Lewis was efficient from the free throw line, as the knocked down 93.3% (14-for-15) of their attempts.
Lewis returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 27), as the Flyers welcome UW-Parkside to Neil Carey Arena for a 7:30 PM tip-off.
