Azusa, Calif. -
Lewis University's Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) avenged an early season loss to Azusa Pacific's Jan Meyer, but that wasn't enough, as the No. 11 Cougar men's tennis team captured the 7-2 non-conference victory over the visiting Flyers at the Munson & Bavougian Tennis Complex on Monday (March 3) afternoon.

Levandi, who is ranked No. 8 in the country, earned the 6-4, 6-4 win over the seventh-ranked Meyer. Earlier this season, Meyer beat Levandi, 6-3, 7-5 to claim third-place at the USTA/ITA National Small College Men's Tennis Championships.

With the win, Azusa Pacific improves to 8-1 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 2-3.

The Flyers won their other match at No. 3 singles, as freshman Mate Srdanovic (Split, Croatia/Graditeljsko-Geodetska Tehnicka) emerged with the 6-3, 2-6, 12-10 marathon victory over Tomas Aranguiz.

Lewis returns to action on Tuesday (March 4), as they take on Fresno Pacific at 9 AM PT.
