LIBERTY, Mo. – Junior Maggie Moran (Arlington Heights, Ill./Rolling Meadows) scored Lewis women's soccer only goal in a 2-1 loss at William Jewell on Friday (Sept. 19) evening in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match.

Moran's goal came at 34:42 and was assisted by junior Lauren Grady (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs). It tied the contest after William Jewell opened the scoring at 31:49 on a tally by Sydney White, assisted by Jade Gifford.

Following a 1-1 tie at half, the Cardinals scored the game winning goal at 56:02. Gabby Brooks found the back of the net on a 10-yard shot from the right wing. Aspen Hawkins assisted on the goal. The shot total was tied at eight at halftime but the Cardinals out-shot the Flyers 16-8 in the second half.

William Jewell improves to 1-0-3 (1-0-2 GLVC). Lewis falls to 1-3-1 (1-2-0 GLVC). The Flyers return to the pitch on Sunday in a GLVC contest at Rockhurst.
