Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University Athletics Department and Student Wellness Advocate Group (SWAG) will unveil the 2015-16 editions of the Flyer men's and women's basketball teams at the Fourth Annual Flyer Fan Fest on Thursday, October 22nd at Neil Carey Arena.

"The Flyer Fan Fest is one of our signature athletic events on campus," Lewis Associate Director of Athletics Brian Sisson said. "We look forward to a jam-packed Neil Carey Arena and showcasing our basketball programs who will provide a great experience to the Lewis University community."

The event is slated to begin at 9 PM with free pizza and soft drinks being served at 8:45 PM. Flyer Fan Fest will feature slam dunk and three-point contests, along with performances from our Cheerleading and Flyerette dance teams.

"Flyer Fan Fest is an event that our guys look forward to," Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said. "It is a great time for our team to interact with the student body, which plays an important role in creating an exciting atmosphere in Neil Carey Arena. 

"It should be a fun evening and it is a great way to tip off the beginning of an exciting 2015-16 season." 

First-year head women's basketball coach Kristen Gillespie echoes Trost's sentiments.

"I am extremely excited for the Flyer Fan Fest!," Gillespie said. "Our players have been working extremely hard during the preseason and cannot wait to get on the court.

"It will be a great opportunity for our fans to interact and get to know our players."

Fans have a chance to interact with our basketball teams with the Flyer Skill Challenge and have a chance to win $500 that would go towards books for the spring semester. There will also be a contest between Student Organizations, with the winning team taking home $100 for their group.
