Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) made quite the home debut Saturday (Nov. 21) afternoon as she helped No. 2 Lewis women's basketball to an 80-52 win over Davis & Elkins at Neil Carey Arena.
Kelliher didn't miss a shot, going 7-for-7 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the line for 20 points and eight rebounds. She had nine points in the third quarter.
"Jess has the ability to score in bunches," Lewis head coach
Kristen Gillespie said. "She's so unselfish and you saw some of her ability today."
The Flyers never trailed in the contest, out-scoring the Senators in each of the four quarters.
Kelliher was one of four Flyers in double-digits. Senior
Mariyah Brawner-Henley (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) had her 53
rd career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while adding four blocks. Senior
Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) scored 16 points. Junior
Alyssa Siwek (Palos Heights, Ill./Mother McAuley) added a career-high 11 points thanks to three 3-pointers.
Lewis out-shot Davis & Elkins 50.8 percent to 32.3 percent.
Davis & Elkins falls to 0-4. Lewis improves to 4-0. The Flyers will play Alderson Broaddus on Sunday (Nov. 22) at 3 p.m.
