ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Four Flyers finished in double-digits to help No. 2 Lewis women's hoops to an 81-54 victory over Ferris State on Sunday (Nov. 29) at Neil Carey Arena in a non-conference contest.

Senior Mariyah Brawner-Henley (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) had a game-high 20 points on 10-of-15 shooting while recording eight rebounds.

"This was Mariyah's best game of the year," Lewis head coach Kristen Gillespie said. "You could tell she was locked in offensively and defensively and gave a great effort on the boards. I think the team followed her lead."

Freshman Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) made all 10 of her free throw attempts to finish with 18 points. Senior Alyssa Dengler (Chicago, Ill./Trinity) added 13 points. Junior Alyssa Siwek (Palos Heights, Ill./Mother McAuley) scored 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting. She had just one turnover on the day with a career-high eight assists.

Ferris State's only lead of the game came on a 3-pointer on the first possession. Lewis used a 10-0 run, with Brawner-Henley scoring eight of the points, in the first quarter to grab a 26-12 lead after the first 10 minutes. The Flyers put the game away in the second thanks to an 11-0 stretch that saw Lewis grab a 41-18 lead. Lewis forced three turnovers and limited the Bulldogs to just one shot attempt in the stretch.

The Flyers shot better than 50 percent for the fourth time in five games, finishing with a 51.7 percent (31-of-60) mark against the Bulldogs. Meanwhile Ferris State shot only 35.7 percent (20-of-56).

"Today was a great team win," Gillespie added.

The Bulldogs fall to 0-4 while Lewis improves to 6-1. The Flyers are at Saint Joseph's on Thursday (Dec. 3) in the first Great Lakes Valley Conference contest of the season.
