No. 20 in the nation and third seeded Lewis women's volleyball opens the NCAA Midwest Regional with sixth seeded Grand Valley State on Thursday (Dec. 3) at 2:30 p.m. ET. Top seed Ferris State is hosting the regional. Lewis won 3-2 (25-21, 14-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-11) over GVSU earlier this season. The schools have met in 2006, 2007 and 2010 in the NCAA Tournaments with the Lakers winning all three. 2007's contest came in the regional final when Lewis fell 3-2. The other two matches both went four sets.

Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) was named the 2015 GLVC Libero of the Year.
- The last time Lewis played a match in the month of December was the 2013 regional against Ferris State, a 3-1 loss. Before that, the Flyers last played in December in the 1988 NCAA Tournament.
- Lewis is one of eight schools in NCAA DII this season with 30 wins.
- Lewis is 3-1 against the seven teams in the NCAA Midwest Regional this season. The Flyers split against Rockhurst and earned wins over Grand Valley State and Findlay at the Midwest Region Crossover in October.

Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) is one dig away from history. Her 638 digs this season are tied for the most in a single season in school history. In 2007 Ashlee Lindish also recorded 638. Yuede needs just one dig to break the mark.

Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) owns 109 block assists this season, sixth most for a single season in Lewis history. If she can get to 114, she will rank second all-time for a single season in Lewis history. First for a single season is Kim Enk's 139 in 1988.
- The Flyers have played 10 five-set matches this season, going 7-3 in the contests. Lewis had a stretch of six straight five-set contests, going 4-2 in the matches. The 10 five set contests are the most in a single season in school history. The previous high was six. All three of Lewis' GLVC losses this season came in five sets.
