Indianapolis Cruises Past Lewis Women's Tennis, 8-1

Flyers earn lone victory at No. 1 doubles.

The University of Indianapolis clinched the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division title with an 8-1 victory over the Lewis University women's tennis team at the UIndy Tennis Center on Friday (April 10) afternoon.

With the win, Indianapolis improves to 9-5 on the season and 5-0 in the GLVC, while Lewis falls to 10-6 on the season and 5-1 in GLVC action.

Lewis' lone win came at No. 1 doubles, as junior Megan Nguyen (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora) and freshman Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) defeated UIndy's Stephanie Hirsch and Florence Renard, 9-7.

Lewis returns to action on Sunday (April 12) for its final regular season match-up, as the Flyers travel to Lindenwood for a 12 PM first serve.
