Ferris State Snaps Lewis Women's Tennis Win Streak At Five With 6-2 Victory

Flyers manage wins at No. 2 singles and doubles.

Ferris State University snapped the five-match winning streak of the Lewis University women's tennis team, as the visiting Bulldogs claimed the 6-2 regional victory over the Flyers at the Five Star Tennis Center on Thursday (April 2) afternoon.

With the victory, Ferris State improves to 19-8 overall while the Flyers fall to 7-5 on the season.

Lewis junior Megan Nguyen (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora) collected both victories for the Flyers. She paired up with Jill Wetmore (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa) for the 8-2 win over ShawneeAnn Breisford and Arien Kissinger at No. 2 doubles. Nguyen went on to defeat Breisford, 6-2, 5-7, 12-10 at No. 2 singles.

Lewis returns to action on Friday (April 3) at the Five Star Tennis Center, as the Flyers welcome UIS for a 3 PM first serve.
