Kirksville, Mo. -
Four different Truman State players scored in the first half, as the host Bulldogs claimed the 4-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the Lewis University men's soccer team at Bulldog Soccer Park on Friday (Sept. 18) afternoon.

The Bulldogs received tallies from sophomore Craig McLaurine, redshirt freshman Brian Kane, freshman Trevor Kaufmann and senior John Lee in the win.

With the victory, Truman State improves to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play, while the visiting Flyers remain winless at 0-4-1 on the campaign and 0-2-1 in GLVC action.

Lewis freshman midfielder Edgar Garcia (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) scored the lone goal for the Flyers, as he recovered a loose ball and beat TSU goalkeeper Drew Orf for the tally in the 23rd minute.

Orf made one save for the Bulldogs to earn the win. Lewis goalkeeper Justin Salazar (Elburn, Ill./Hinckley Big Rock) allowed all four goals in the Flyer loss.

Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 20), as the Flyers travel to Quincy for a 2:30 PM first kick against the No. 9 Hawks.
