Kansas City, Mo. - The No. 19 Lewis University women's volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit, including a fourth set that saw them trail 9-1, as the Flyers claimed the 25-20, 17-25, 25-27, 25-17, 15-10 Great Lakes Valley Conference road win over GLVC West Division leading and No. 25 Rockhurst at Mason Halpin Fieldhouse on Saturday (Oct. 29) afternoon.
The win is the 1,000th in program history.
Lewis sophomore outside hitter
Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) turned in a dominant performance in the victory. The Plainfield, Ill., native notched 20 kills with a hitting percentage of .425 (20 kills, 3 errors, 40 attacks).
With the win, Lewis improves to 19-6 overall and 12-1 in GLVC action, while the host Hawks drop to 21-5 on the campaign and 11-2 in conference play.
The Flyers also received impressive performances from junior middle hitter
Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) and redshirt junior right side Madde Seliga. Schneider had 16 kills and seven block assists, while Seliga recorded a double-double of 12 kills and 13 digs.

Abby Becker (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) dished out a career-high 53 assists, while redshirt senior libero
Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) had a match-high 25 digs.
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Nov. 4), as the Flyers welcome Truman State to Neil Carey Arena. First serve is set for 7 PM.
