Evansville, Ind. - The No. 13 Lewis University women's volleyball team won its 10th straight match with a 25-14, 25-14, 25-19 Great Lakes Valley Conference sweep over Southern Indiana at the Physical Activities Center on Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon.
Lewis sophomore outside hitter
Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) notched a double-double with a match-high 12 kills and 11 digs, while redshirt junior right side
Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) contributed 10 putaways in the victory.
Flyer redshirt sophomore setter
Abby Becker (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) had a match-high 41 assists, while redshirt senior libero
Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) netted a match-high 20 digs.
With the victory, Lewis improves to 15-3 on the season and 9-0 in GLVC action, while the host Screaming Eagles fall to 8-10 on the campaign and 3-6 in conference play.
As a team, Lewis recorded a hitting percentage of .374 (48-8-107) while the Screaming Eagles were held to a performance of .074 (25-17-108).
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Oct. 14), as the Flyers will participate against a yet-to-be determined opponent in the annual Midwest Regional Crossover in Aurora, Ill.
