No. 15 Lewis Women's Volleyball Breezes To Three-Game Sweep Over UIndy

Flyers win 25-13, 25-17, 25-11 and set rally scoring record for hitting percentage (.480).

Romeoville, Ill. - The No. 15 Lewis University women's volleyball team notched a school-record hitting percentage of .480 (39 kills, 3 errors, 75 attacks) in the 25-13, 25-17, 25-11 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the University of Indianapolis on Friday (Nov. 11) at Neil Carey Arena.

The new school standard is for the rally scoring era and breaks the previous mark of .456 (49 kills, 8 errors, 90 attacks) set against Saint Xavier on October 26, 2006. Indianapolis, however, was not as successful, as the Greyhounds had a hitting percentage of -.011 (23-24-95).

The victory extends Lewis' winning streak to seven matches and helps them improve to 23-6 overall and 16-1 in GLVC action, while the visiting Greyhounds fall to 14-15 on the campaign and 9-8 in conference play.

Lewis junior middle hitter Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) and redshirt junior right side Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) each had 10 kills to lead the Flyers and combined for a hitting percentage of .645 (20-0-31). 13 different Flyers had at least one kill against the Greyhounds on Friday.

Lewis redshirt sophomore setter Abby Becker (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) had a match-high 29 assists, while redshirt senior libero Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) registered a match-high 13 digs. Flyer sophomore outside hitter Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) added 11 digs in the victory.

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 12) as they host Saint Joseph's for a 2 PM first serve at Neil Carey Arena.
