Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University women's basketball took on UW-Parkside at Neil Carey Arena Sunday (Dec. 11) hoping to add to their win total. The Flyers struggled in the first half trailing the Rangers by one but were able to take the lead thanks to a third quarter surge and came away victorious at the end of regulation, 74-62. 

Lewis' duo of sophomore Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) and redshirt senior Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) played at the level of what's come to be expected of them as they combined for 56 points. Johnson dropped 25 points on 5-14 shooting and came away with two steals for the game. Kelliher went off for 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to earn a double-double for the game.

The Flyers as a team shot 47.2 percent compared to the 31.8 percent shooting of the Rangers, and Lewis also out-rebounded UWP 44 to 30.

With the win Lewis moves to 9-2 (3-0 GLVC) while UW-Parkside drops to 1-8 (0-3 GLVC).

Flyers will remain at home for their next game on Monday (Dec. 19) when they welcome Wayne State. Tip off is set for 1 PM.
