Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team used a 36-12 second half run, keyed by a game-high 26 points from senior guard
Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego), to claim the 90-78 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over Saint Joseph's at Neil Carey Arena on Thursday (Dec. 1).
Simelton was 8-for-9 from the field and knocked down 9-for-11 of his free throw attempts. He was the catalyst behind the Flyers' 36-12 run, scoring 12 points to help Lewis rally from a nine-point, second-half deficit and take a 15-point lead. That run lasted over 11 minutes.
With the win, Lewis improves to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in GLVC action, while the visiting Pumas fall to 4-3 on the campaign and 0-1 in conference play.

Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) narrowly missed a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, while
Eddie Miles (Chicago, Ill./Hales Franciscan) came off of the bench to score 13 points. Flyer sophomore center
Frank Vukaj (Davison, Mich./Davison) scored 10 points with seven rebounds and four blocked shots in the win.
For the game, Lewis shot a season-best 55.8% (29-for-52) from the field and held a 40-28 advantage over the Pumas in rebounds.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Dec. 3), as the Flyers square off with Indianapolis for a 3 PM tip-off at Neil Carey Arena.
