Romeoville, Ill. - The five-game winning streak came to an end for the Lewis University men's basketball team, as the Flyers dropped a 60-50 regional decision to Northwood University at Neil Carey Arena on Friday (Dec. 30) night.
The Timberwolves emerged victorious, despite the Flyers holding them to a team-season low 32.1% (18-for-56) field goal percentage. Northwood, however, was equally up to the task defensively, holding Lewis to a 25.4% (16-for-63) shooting performance and 5.9% (1-for-17) outing from beyond the arc.
With the win, Northwood improves to 4-10 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 7-5.
Lewis sophomore center
Frank Vukaj (Davison, Mich./Davison) collected a game-high 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds to pace the Flyers offensively.
Lewis returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 5), as the Flyers head to Rolla, Mo., to square off with Missouri S&T. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
