Lewis Men's Basketball Back On Track With 83-62 Win Over Missouri S&T

Flyers 3-0 in GLVC play for the first time since 2003-04.

Rolla, Mo. - Lewis University senior guard Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) topped four players in double-figures, as the Flyer men's basketball team earned the 83-62 Great Lakes Valley Conference road victory over Missouri S&T at Billy Key Court on Thursday (Jan. 5) night.

Simelton had 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting, while sophomore swingman Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) contributed 15 points in the win.

Lewis freshmen guards Adam Pischke (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) and Jake Reinhart (Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) combined for 23 points and five three-pointers. Pischke knocked down two three-pointers and added a game-high four assists, while Reinhart drained three triples to finish with 11 points.

With the win, Lewis improves to 8-5 on the campaign and 3-0 in GLVC action, while the Miners fall to 7-4 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. This is the first time since 2003-04 that Lewis has opened GLVC play with three victories.

Lewis shot 47.1% (32-for-68) from the field and converted 10 three-pointers. The Flyers also outrebounded Missouri S&T, 45-32, including 14 offensive rebounds. Lewis' performance on the glass helped the Flyers to a 19-0 advantage in second-chance points.

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 7) as the Flyers head to Springfield, Mo., for a 3 PM showdown with No. 12 Drury.
