Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team drained 14 first-half three-pointers, led by a career-high 28 points and six trifectas from sophomore
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights), in the 85-73 wire-to-wire non-conference win over St. Francis (Ill.) at Neil Carey Arena on Wednesday (Dec. 7).
Blaylock was 10-for-17 from the field and 6-for-8 from beyond the arc. The Flyers also received 14 points and six assists from senior guard
Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) and 12 points and five rebounds from sophomore center
Frank Vukaj (Davison, Mich./Davison).
With the win, Lewis improves to 5-4 on the campaign, while the Fighting Saints drop to 5-4.
For the game, Lewis shot 53.6% (15-for-36) from long range, while the Fighting Saints were equally up to the task, knocking down 13-for-25 of their three-pointers. Five different Flyers hit at least two three-pointers on the evening.
Lewis returns to action on December 17th, as the Flyers meet Cedarville in a tournament showdown at Quincy University. Tip-off is slated for 1 PM.
