Quincy, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team was unable to overcome a season-high 20 turnovers and a 37.0% (20-for-54) shooting performance as Quincy University claimed the 83-63 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory, snapping the Flyers' four-game winning streak at the Pepsi Center on Thursday (Feb. 11) night.

Lewis sophomore forward Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) topped the Flyers with 13 points, along with six rebounds and a team-best five assists. Freshman center Frank Vukaj (Davison, Mich./Davison) pitched in 12 points and six rebounds, while junior guard Capel Henshaw (Harrisburg, Ill./Harrisburg) dropped two three-pointers and finished with 11 points.

Freshman guard Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) finished with seven points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

"It was one of those games where we didn't play well in any facet," Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said. "You have to give Quincy credit because they are a very good team."

With the victory, Quincy improves to 16-7 overall and 10-4 in GLVC action, while the Flyers drop to 17-7 on the campaign and 9-5 in conference play.

Quincy junior forward Joseph Tagarelli led all scorers with 19 points and nine rebounds, while senior guard Nate Des Jardins drained four three-pointers to finish with 18 points. The Hawks also received 11 points apiece from redshirt junior forward Evan McGaughey (9 rebounds) and senior Godson Eneogwe.

Quincy shot 46.2% (30-for-65) from the floor and knocked down nine three-pointers, led by Des Jardins' four trifectas. The Hawks also turned Lewis' 20 miscues into 17 points.

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 13), as they head to Kirksville, Mo., for a 3 PM showdown with Truman State.
